Billions of reasons to be in Melbourne this October

In one month, Australia’s largest mining event will attract investors with billions in their pockets to Melbourne for four days of learning, unparalleled networking and deal-making at the sixth annual International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) taking place in Melbourne from 29-31 October.

Early numbers are suggesting that more than 400 mining companies with market caps ranging from $2 million to $33 billion will be vying for the attention of investors with a cumulative total of $1.37 trillion in assets under management and $12.38 billion ready to invest at IMARC alone.

“We will be matching more than 400 retail and institutional investors with mining projects at IMARC later this year,” said IMARC Managing Director Anita Richards

“We are fortunate to welcome mining companies from every area of the sector; from diversifted majors such as BHP, Rio Tinto and South32; to gold mid-tiers like OceanaGold and Evolution Mining through to some of the most compelling emerging explorers and developers.

“IMARC will be attended by miners from more than 100 countries whose business focus is in everything from aluminium to zinc,” Ms Richards said. “It has a packed program with something for everyone.

Part of the world-renowned Mines and Money series, IMARC is one of the industry’s leading international events for capital-raising and mining investment, and will bring together thousands of miners, financiers and industry professionals under the one roof at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre.

The conference covers global market trends, technological developments, investment opportunities, mining and exploration updates, as well as embracing clean energy and protecting the environment.”

Participants will hear from the experts about the current appetite for investments and M&A, see miners and explorers present on their operations and learn about the latest in automation and technology trends.

“The conference comes at a time when mining is on a roll globally,” Ms Richards said. “Gold and iron ore prices have been soaring, while the buzz around battery minerals has never been bigger.

“Australian mining is at the centre of that optimism and Melbourne will be the place to be when the world’s biggest miners and investors roll into town.”

Investors wanting to identify and compare new investments should take advantage of the complimentary pass that is on offer to attend the event.
