The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (the AusIMM) is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen Durkin as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Stephen brings extensive experience in business and association management to his new role, and possesses highly-regarded skills in government, media and community relations.
Stephen was most recently Chief Executive of Engineers Australia, where he drove the 100,000+ member association through a successful member-centric transformation. He holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours).
The AusIMM is the peak body for professionals in the Australasian minerals sector. AusIMM President, Colin Moorhead, said Stephen’s high-profile record of organisational transformation would position the Institute for further growth.
‘The Institute represents professionals working in one of the few sectors in Australasia that is truly world class’, Mr Moorhead said.

Stephen said he is excited by the opportunities presented by his appointment as AusIMM CEO.

Stephen commenced his role with AusIMM on 29 May 2017.
