AGCC 2018 – first circular and draft program released

  • By AusIMM Geoscience Society

The AusIMM Geoscience Society is one of the member societies of the Australian Geoscience Council (AGC) which organised and hosted the 34th International Geological Congress in Brisbane in 2012. The 35th IGC was held in Cape Town in South Africa in 2016 and similar conferences are planned to continue at four-year intervals.

A new conference, the Australian Geoscience Council Convention (AGCC 2018) is planned for Adelaide in 2018, midway between the international IGC conventions, to promote Geoscience, particularly through the Asia Pacific Region. You are invited to participate either as a delegate or sponsor, or as an active contributor to the organization of the convention. More details are available in the First Circular at the link below.

The 2018 Australian Geoscience Council Convention (AGCC), ‘Big Issues and Ideas in Geoscience’, is designed to highlight the fundamental role that geoscience has as a major field of science throughout the Asia Pacific Region.

AGCC will be the largest geoscience event to be held in Australasia since 2012, with delegates from all branches of geoscience plus experts in mining, energy, engineering, environment and other disciplines interested in resource development expected to attend.

AGCC 2018 is supported by all eight member organisations of the Australian Geoscience Council and is proudly sponsored by Geoscience Australia.

The first circular for the Australian Geoscience Council Convention 2018, which includes information on the draft program plus much more, is now available here.
